    by Waverly Wilde

Maybe you’re a recent vegetarian, or maybe you’re just looking for something new and different to try this Thanksgiving in place of boring old turkey. That’s where Tofurky swoops in to save the day! It may have gotten a bad rap in the past, but these days, Tofurky roasts are just as delicious as the real thing, and simple to prepare too, especially if you have an LG oven.

So, in honor of World Vegan Month this November, and in honor of all you herbivores out there, we put together this guide for how to make a delicious Tofurky feast in your LG Wall Oven. Wall ovens by LG have plenty of capacity for all your Thanksgiving favorites, and four different cooking options so your dishes always come out just how you like them. So, give your LG a go, and try out this delicious Tofurky recipe that will have you asking “Turkey, who?”

    Thanksgiving Tofurky Roast

    Recipe from I Love Vegan

Yields: 5 servings | Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

    What You’ll Need:

    • Tofurky Roast, thawed in fridge for at least 24 hours
    • 1 medium-large sweet potato, scrubbed
    • 2 carrots
    • 8-10 fingerling potatoes
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1/2 tsp thyme
    • 1/2 tsp oregano
    • 1/2 tsp rosemary
    • pie plate or roast pan
    • tin foil

    How to Make It:

    1. Start by preheating your LG oven to 350 degrees. Set your oven to the “Roast” setting for optimal browning.

    2. Remove your Tofurky from the casing by running it under hot water then using a knife to cut open the plastic. Be sure not to pinch and poke your roast too much!

    3. Chop up your veggies. Make sure your carrots and potatoes are sliced into large but uniform pieces for even cooking, and to prevent them from overcooking.

    4. Mix together the soy sauce, olive oil, thyme, rosemary, and oregano in a small bowl to make your sauce.

    5. Arrange your Tofurky alongside your vegetables in a large pie plate or a roast pan. Pour about half of your sauce over the roast and vegetables. Set aside the rest of your sauce for later.

    6. Cover the whole pan tightly with tin foil or a snug-fitting lid.

    7. Cook for one hour in the middle rack of your LG wall oven. With a Wi-Fi enable SmartThinQ oven, you can check in on your Tofurkey right from your smart phone, so you can spend that hour entertaining or prepping other dishes without worrying about burning your roast!

    8. After an hour, remove the foil or lid from the pan and use the rest of your sauce to baste the roast. Then, put the roast back into the oven to bake uncovered for 15 more minutes.

    9. Slice thinly with a serrated bread knife and serve for a delicious turkey alternative!

What did we tell you? Turkey is so yesterday!
