There's more to the delivery process than just waiting around, and it's not all on the person delivering and installing your products. While we like to make the delivery as smooth as possible on our end, there are a few things you should do that'll help hurry things along on your end.
So, next time you plan on getting a major appliance delivered to your humble abode, follow these steps so that your appliance is transported without a hitch on delivery day!
Pick out your new appliance in store
First thing's first: Choose an appliance! Whether you're in the market for a wall oven, a refrigerator, or another large major appliance, we've got the name-brands just for you at Aztec's. We recommend measuring for your specific appliance before heading to our San Diego store, that way you'll know what size constraints you'll need to stay within. And once you decide which one is perfect for your home, our kitchen specialists on the floor would be happy to work out the delivery details. You didn't think we were going to make you carry a massive laundry pair to your car, now did ya?
We make sure you get help from the moment you walk through our doors to the moment we're leaving your home after installing your new appliances. Just be sure to schedule a time that works for you and prep your home with the following suggestions so that when we show up, your home will be all set for delivery.
What to do before the delivery
Before the delivery, we suggest you do a little more measuring to make sure your new appliances can even fit through the doorways of your place. You'll want to find the best pathway to get your new item from point A to point B, making sure it won't get stuck along the way.
Start by finding the narrowest doorway or hallway along the delivery path and measuring it. If the doorway happens to be smaller than the appliance, try and find another path it can follow. If you're struggling to find a way, we're happy to give you a hand and figure out how to get your recently purchased appliance safely in your home.
Next, make sure to give our delivery trucks some space! They are big, so we require room when delivering to your house. We ask that you either leave a spot in your driveway or on the street to give us easy access when moving your appliance to its new home.
Aside from that, pick up anything along the ground of the delivery path that may get in the way such as toys, shoes, rugs, or anything else. And if you have an animal, make sure to place your furry friend somewhere safe and secure.
What to do during the delivery
When the delivery folk make it to your house, greet them with lemonade and cookies – We're kidding!
After the delivery crew unloads your appliance and gets done installing it, check to see if it works before everyone leaves. You wouldn't want to turn your range on a couple hours later for dinner only to find out it doesn't heat up right.
What to do after the delivery
Use your new appliance! If you had a dishwasher or even a washer or dryer delivered, be sure to test out all the cycles and make sure they all work properly. If you got a new cooktop, try boiling some water or frying an egg. Just let your inner child out and touch all the buttons you were never allowed to.
Other than that, make sure to clean your appliances well. Sometimes your appliances may be a bit dusty from sitting in a warehouse, in which case, just be sure to wipe it off by simply using some paper towels and water.
