How to Organize the Perfect Brunch Party

    by Waverly Wilde

Whoever said breakfast was the most important meal of the day didn’t know about brunch. Besides getting to wake up late, you get to eat a combination of breakfast AND lunch foods. The only way it can be better is if it’s shared with friends and family!

So, if you love brunch and are looking to throw a perfect brunch get-together at your place, you’ll need the right appliances and tips to help this brunch run as smoothly as possible. At Aztec Appliance we’ve got the appliances made to make your weekend morning meal simple and easy. Take our advice on how to throw a nice brunch party and you’ll be worry-free, stuffing your face alongside your pals in no time.

    Create a menu

When we say, “create a menu,” we’re not suggesting you take the time to build a complete restaurant style menu with multiple unique recipes. No, of course not! We mean, figure out a few food options to provide, that way everyone will have a few choices and won’t be limited, especially if there are any dietary restrictions. We suggest deciding on two main meals (one savory and one sweet) and adding smaller side dishes that could go with either. For example, these would be great options for your brunch fam:

    Main courses

    Side dishes

    • Mixed Fruit
    • Fried Potatoes

    Drinks

    • Juice (orange, apple, strawberry lemonade)
    • Milk

The above menu is just one idea of what you can make for your guests, but not something you need to follow exactly.

Side note: Use a large whiteboard or chalkboard to list out your amazing menu for all to look upon. It will add a French café touch to your party’s decor.

Keep Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables Fresh

Seasonal fruit and veggies are a must at any brunch extravaganza. Whether you like to get your healthy treats from the Hillcrest Farmers Market or Little Italy Mercato Farmers Market, you can never go wrong with locally grown fruits and vegetables. From grapefruits and oranges to spinach and potatoes, there are so many ways to incorporate your favorite health foods into your meal.

There’s one thing you need to make sure of when serving these seasonal treats though -- that they are as fresh as can be. The best way to make this happen is with the right fridge in your kitchen! Take this Bosch French door refrigerator for instance -- it includes the two humidity controlled CrisperDrawers which help keep food fresher longer.

    Make Food Early

There’s nothing worse than scrambling the last few minutes before people arrive, and we aren’t talking about your eggs. It’s important that you get most if not all your food done before guests arrive, so you aren’t stuck cooking while everyone else gets to mingle.

With the KitchenAid pro style dual fuel range, you’ll find that cooking will be quicker and easier than ever before. This range is ideal for morning meals because it comes with an Even-Heat Chrome Electric Griddle, perfect for making eggs, pancakes, or even frying up some potatoes. It’s also a convection oven, which provides even and fast cooking, so you never have to stress about your food taking too long.

Stop by our store to learn all about our KitchenAid or other name-brand ranges and how they’ll make your brunch-time prepping a cinch.

    Keep it Simple with Decor

Now that you’ve got the food part figured out, you can’t forget about the decorations! Luckily, when it comes to a brunch party, the food and drinks tend to be the focal point of your event, so no need to go big on decor.

Set up a couple tables where you can display your food and drinks. We suggest setting up your food on one table and your drinks on another. If you plan to have mimosas, create a banner that says “MIMOSA BAR” above the drinks table and make sure to provide juices, champagne, and champagne flutes for your guests. You could even add a few bowls of various fruit so your guests can choose to add them to their drink. Paper straws are always a fun addition to your beverage and are especially great if you have a color theme you want to stick to. Not to mention, they are very environmentally friendly! California passed a law earlier this year banning plastic straws from being served in restaurants unless guests specifically asked for one, making this one progressive piece of decor to add to your brunch event.

Flowers are also fantastic for easy and affordable decor. You can either buy a bouquet of flowers from your local farmers market or Allen’s Flowers & Plants, or pick a bunch from your own neighborhood to create tiny flower arrangements throughout the room where you’ll be brunching. A little bit goes a long way so don’t worry about wowing your guests this way. As long as the food is good, your party will be a hit.
